Located in the heart of Whakatane, Golden Pond Lifecare is a Registered Retirement Village that incorporates 18 Home Units and 11 Studios.
The Home Units which are owned by their occupiers, provide an environment that allows owners to be independent with the knowledge that services and care are available when required. Home Care help available to you in the community is applicable and if you currently use it, it is transferable. Our fees are the most competitive package there is in our market place. Our Lifecare Fee is capped and capital gain accrues to the owner.
The Village is built around Golden Pond Private Hospital which enjoys an excellent reputation. It provides a full service to the Studios and support service to the Home Units.

Single Bedroom Units
There are eight single bedroom units that surround a picturesque courtyard garden which can be accessed from Pohutu Street.
Double Bedroom Units
There are ten double bedroom units within the Village. Seven are located on Pohutu Street while the other three can be found at the main entrance on Bracken Street.
The village consists of 11 studios set amongst landscaped gardens and courtyards with a fountain. The dining room and recreational room are adjoined by the courtyard area.
Nine single room studios have an open-plan design with their own en-suite. Additional features include: kitchenette, double wardrobe, heating, fridge and nurse calling system.
Two double room studios offer a more spacious layout for couples and singles.
Golden Pond Private Hospital has been privately owned and operated since opening their doors in 1989.
The Golden Pond grounds are wheelchair friendly and a lot of pleasure is derived by walking around the gardens where seating is placed at strategic intervals.
