Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre
The Whakatane Library is only a 850m walk from our quint village. It is a good exhibition center with Maori and European settler artifacts as well as local arts and crafts. There is historical and geological (earthquake and volcano) information also.

Rose Gardens
The Whakatāne Gardens are situated on what was once ‘Eivers Beach’ between McGarvey Road and McAlister Street on the town side of the Whakatāne River stopbank. The area comprises rose gardens, a formal entrance, scented garden and areas for bulbs, shrubs and perennials.

River Edge Park
River Edge Park is a rich, diverse and detailed riverside park, adjacent to the Warren Cole walkway.
Golden Pond Lifecare is only 500 metres from the Rose Gardens.

City Centre
Golden Pond is situated approximately 1 kilometre from the town centre and the river bank walk, all easy flat walking. There are plenty of cafe’s, New World and the Strand all in close vicinity.
